February 25th Meeting

Our next meeting is at 6:15 pm on


Monday February 25th at the Continental

Inn’s Edmonton Room. This will be a

program meeting and the guest speaker

will be from Tribal Dreams. We will also

have some brief reports on our various

projects. All members are urged to attend

and guests are most welcome, especially

potential new members.

Juvenile Curling

O p t i m i s t I n t e r n a t i o n a l   Juvenile Curling Northern Alberta Playdowns were held Feb. 9 & 10 , 2013 in Spruce Grove at the  S p r u c e Gr o v e Curling Club.  Three teams from the Saville (U of A) Curling Club and the girls team from the Ellerslie curling club were winners from this event and now go to
the Alberta Federation of Curling Juvenile Tournament in Sylvan Lake.

Optimists Clint, Geneva, Brian, Keivin, John & Ruby attended from our club and Opt Bob and Ray attended from the Leduc Black Gold.  This is one of the tournaments towards the 2013  U-18 Optimist International Curling Championships in Surrey & Langley BC on March 27-31 / 2013.

Casino Events

The Brail Tone Music Society of Canada Casino is

Saturday July 6th & Sunday July 7th at the Palace

Casino. The Strathcona Place Seniors event is

Wednesday Aug 7th & Thursday Aug 8th at Casino

Edmonton (Argyle). The Edmonton Dinner Optimist

Club’s Casino is Saturday Dec 21st & Sunday Dec 22nd

at the Palace Casino. We do as a Service Projects the

Brail Tone and Strathcona Place Seniors events to help

those two organizations and our own is for our own

Choralfest Update

The Brail Tone Choir will be performing on Saturday, March 9 at McDougall
United Church at Choralfest. Address, 10025 - 101street. The performance is
at 10 a.m. and all optimists are welcome to attend.
