CUC Volunteers needed

I'm writing you on behalf of the Canadian Ultimate (Frisbee) Championships (CUC) 2016.

This year, both the junior and senior championships are being held in Edmonton Aug 8-14. In total, we expect over 2000 athletes from across the country to attend. The junior division, consisting of youth 14-17 years of
age in both male and female divisions, will take place Aug 8-10 and will involve approximately 800 youth. Games will be held at the new Ivor Dent Sports Park.

Because of the size of this event, we are looking for hundreds of volunteers (14+ years of age) to fill a number of positions including scorekeepers,
volunteer check in attendants, greeters, water jug fillers, food supervisors and more. It's a great chance to showcase Edmonton as a strong, vibrant and
beautiful city, teeming with friendly people, and capable of hosting a world class sporting event. Volunteers will receive a number of free items, including t-shirts, parking, and tickets to the finals.

I am hoping that you might share the opportunity for volunteering within the  Edmonton Optimist Club network. Volunteers are able to sign up directly for
the shifts they would like. More information and sign up are available at
http://cuc2016.volunteercentral.com/volunteer.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or requests for additional steps on my part.Thank you for your consideration.
